34 players from across the Maritimes set to take part in Wanderers U18 camp in Halifax

The Halifax Wanderers have named the 34 players set to participate in the upcoming Wanderers U18 camp in Halifax.

Boys born between 2005 and 2008 from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI were selected for the invite-only session on Feb. 20.

“In collaboration with clubs and provincial programs, these are the invitees who will attend our first Wanderers U18 evaluation camp,” Wanderers Sporting Director Matt Fegan said. “The program will continue to evaluate players of all levels in our region as we build the squad, including considering other players who weren’t yet selected or were unavailable for this camp.”

Monday’s session includes training, scrimmages and professional development seminars with the Wanderers’ First Team staff.

The club is also entering a U18 team into this summer’s Rising Tides Youth Cup at Dalhousie University.

Earlier this month, the Wanderers announced part of its development plan for 2023, inlcuding the expansion of Wanderers U23/reserves, the new U18 program and plans for a youth program to introduce the game to more boys and girls in Atlantic Canada.
