Wanderers Grounds to host Nova Scotia Soccer League Finals

Our team’s downtown Halifax Wanderers Grounds home stadium will host the finals of the Nova Scotia Soccer League’s Premiership Championship matches this summer.

For the first time, the top men and women’s teams in the league will play for their respective titles in a double header at the iconic Wanderers Grounds, August 17th.

The stadium, with its majestic natural grass pitch, has been turning heads across the country since the return of pro soccer to the region with the Wanderers playing in the Canadian Premier League.

“This is a chance for our fans to see the best young men and women in the province and we hope the players get a thrill out of playing in a professional venue,” said Derek Martin, the Founder and President of HFX Wanderers. “The Wanderers Grounds is a special setting for these games and I know we will see some terrific soccer.”

The Premiership Championship matches of the NSSL will be at the Wanderers Grounds on August 17th.
Sam Karklins of Western and Leanne Huck and Kate MacKeil of Dunbrack, will be hoping to lead their teams to the NSSL Finals at the Wanderers Grounds on August 17th.

The move to bring the top level of amateur soccer to the grounds is a result of the partnership between the Wanderers and Soccer Nova Scotia.

The association has provided it’s BMO centre as the official training facility for the new CPL club, in addition to making sure no Saturday NSSL games clash with the Wanderers schedule.

The women’s final will kick-off at 3 p.m. on August 17 with the men taking to the field at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the double header are general admission and will be reasonably priced at $15 for adults, with youth tickets (12 and under) priced at $10.

Prices include taxes but are subject to an online service fee.
