For the second straight week to open 2023, a Halifax Wanderers player has cracked the CPL’s Gatorade Team of the Week.
Forward Massimo Ferrin was recognized on Monday for his play in the Wanderers 1-1 draw at Forge FC on Saturday. Ferrin scored the match’s opening goal, his second in as many games after a free kick effort midweek in the Canadian Championship.
The Gatorade Team of the Week is selected by Kristian Jack from the Canadian Premier League and OneSoccer’s Oliver Platt.

Massimo Ferrin (HFX Wanderers)
Ferrin has had an excellent start to his Canadian Premier League career and scored his first league goal for Halifax Wanderers on Saturday in a 1-1 draw with Forge. The League1 Ontario 2022 Player of the Year also had four shot attempts, and three successful dribbles, looking like the Wanderers’ main danger man so far this season.
