Wanderers Daniels and Coimbra named to CPL Team of the Week

A pair of Halifax Wanderers players found their names in the CPL’s Gatorade Team of the Week for week 10.

Midfielder Aidan Daniels and forward Tiago Coimbra were recognized for their play in the club’s 3-1 win over Cavalry FC on June 17. Both players found the back of the net in the match, including Coimbra notching his first career professional goal. This is the second straight week that Daniels has been selected to the Team of the Week.

The Gatorade Team of the Week is selected by Kristian Jack from the Canadian Premier League and OneSoccer’s Oliver Platt.

Aidan Daniels (Halifax Wanderers)

With his second goal of the season, Daniels has already surpassed his CPL tally from all of 2022 with Halifax. He scored the winner against Cavalry on Saturday with a perfectly hit strike across goal. The attacking catalyst for the Wanderers in recent matches, Daniels also had two other shot attempts, and three attempted crosses.

Tiago Coimbra (Halifax Wanderers)

The 19-year-old striker scored his first goal for Halifax Wanderers just six minutes into Saturday’s contest against Cavalry FC. He was dangerous throughout his 70 minutes on the pitch, completing three of four attempted dribbles and contesting 14 duels as he pressed a Cavalry side looking to build out of the back.
