Andre Rampersad called up by Trinidad and Tobago for matches vs. U.S.A

Halifax Wanderers captain Andre Rampersad has been selected by the Trinidad and Tobago national team for their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final against the United States.

The two sides are playing in a home-and-away series, starting on Nov. 16 in Austin, Texas, before a match on Nov. 20 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. This quarter-final will determine the four teams advancing to the CONCACAF Nations League Finals, scheduled for March 2024, and the first four CONCACAF teams that will qualify for the CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024.

Rampersad, 28, has become a mainstay in the national team program under head coach Angus Eve, playing in nine of his country’s ten matches in 2023.

The Halifax midfielder made his debut on March 24 this year in a Nations League match against The Bahamas. He scored his first international goal on June 29 in a Gold Cup match against Jamaica.

For the Wanderers, Rampersad is the club’s all-time appearance leader (117) and appeared in 19 matches during the 2023 season, registering two assists.
