Forge FC’s second win of the 2022 CPL season was an impressive one, as they defeated HFX Wanderers FC 4-0 in Halifax to spoil the Kitchen Party and build a little momentum for themselves ahead of the Canadian Championship quarterfinals.
David Choinière opened the scoring for the visitors just over 20 minutes in, getting on the end of an excellent pass across by Alessandro Hojabrpour. In the second half, though, Forge really opened the floodgates, as goals from Emery Welshman, Choinière again, and Woobens Pacius put the match to bed and ensured it would be the heaviest defeat the Wanderers have ever suffered at home.
Both sides now move on to midweek Voyageurs’ Cup ties against MLS opponents, as Toronto FC go to Wanderers Grounds and Forge travel to play CF Montréal.
