A trio of Halifax Wanderers players found their names in the CPL’s Gatorade Team of the Week for week nine.
Midfielders Aidan Daniels and Callum Watson and defender Cale Loughrey were all recognized for their play in the club’s 2-0 win against Valour FC on June 10.
The Gatorade Team of the Week is selected by Kristian Jack from the Canadian Premier League and OneSoccer’s Oliver Platt.

Cale Loughrey (Halifax Wanderers)
Loughrey was a key part of an outstanding defensive effort from Halifax, as they earned their second clean sheet, and first win, of 2023. The 21-year-old won all four of his duels, including three in the air, and made seven clearances on Saturday afternoon.
Callum Watson (Halifax Wanderers)
Watson became the first CPL player to score multiple goals in a match this season (something Myer Bevan would equal later in the weekend) as his two goals led to Halifax’s first win of the season. The young midfielder had five total shot attempts, including four inside the box, and won the ball twice in the final third during an exceptional performance.

Aidan Daniels (Halifax Wanderers)
Daniels created Halifax’s opening goal with a brilliant run down the right flank, and ball across goal to Watson, as the highlight of a match where he was the Wanderers’ main offensive threat. Daniels created two chances, had six successful dribbles and won ten of his 15 duels.
