Halifax Wanderers forward Tiago Coimbra was invited to train with English Premier League side West Ham United’s U21 team ahead of the upcoming CPL season.
Coimbra departed for London in early February and is finishing up his first week of sessions at the club’s training ground. While overseas, Coimbra will gain valuable training and game experience with one of the top development sides in England. West Ham U21s are tied for third in the Premier League 2 table.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Tiago and important to continue his development,” sporting director Matt Fegan said. “As part of our investment in extending Tiago’s contract we committed to different avenues for his professional development and were delighted to facilitate this. He has a bright future in the game if he continues to work hard and challenge himself. We would like to extend our thanks to West Ham United who have been fantastic to welcome him in.”
