Halifax Wanderers captain Andre Rampersad and forward Ryan Telfer have been called up by the Trinidad and Tobago men’s national team for the nation’s upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches.
Trinidad and Tobago play away against Honduras on September 6 and host French Guiana on September 10 in the country’s first two matches of Nations League A.
Placed in Group B with Cuba, French Guiana, Honduras, Jamaica, and Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago will look to be among the top two teams in the group that will advance to the quarterfinals. Canada, Mexico, Panama and the United States have already advanced to the quarter-finals.
Former Halifax Wanderers assistant coach Derek King was recently appointed as the Caretaker Coach of the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Team. King will lead the Trinidad and Tobago squad through these upcoming matches. He was an assistant coach under Stephen Hart during the Wanderers’ inaugural season in 2019.
