Stadium: Wanderers Grounds
Halifax is a city of contrast; young and old, history and future. No site may better exemplify this juxtaposition than the Wanderers Grounds in Downtown Halifax.
Situated beneath Citadel Hill in an area generally known as Halifax Commons, the newly restored pitch is just across Summer street from the Titanic’s lost souls. The Public Gardens are directly south, while new condos rise from the East.
A modern grandstand will rise to the North, while the supporters section will occupy the “Fort End” of the ground. In total, the intimate stadium will accommodate no fewer than 5,000 spectators but because of its modular design, will be flexible and adaptable for future growth.
But perhaps the greatest feature of Harbour’s new home stadium, is the proximity to the City’s entertainment district. A short 10 minute “Grand Parade” up Sackville street, will attract supporters spilling out of their favourite establishments in what could be an event all to itself.
